Candied Yams with Marshmallows
These candied yams are full of flavor and sweetness, wonderful with or without the mini marshamallows. Yet another Thanksgiving favorite.
Candied Yams
1 large can yams 1/4 cup packed brown sugar 1/4 cup butter 3 tablespoons maple syrup 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional
1 cup mini marshmallows
1/4 teaspoon allspice
Drain yams, reserve one cup liquid.
Place in yams in oven safe baking dish, add yam liquid, allspice and remaining ingredients, bake for 40 minutes in 350F degree oven. If desired add mini marshmallows to top during the last 10 minutes of baking, liquid should be thick and bubbly, and marshamllows should be partially melted and golden brown. |
