Once the cones have cooled. the children can help with frosting and decorating, this can be lots of fun, and helps to express their creativity. The best part of this recipe is that they get to taste the fruits of their labor and there is plenty to go around.
*** Note, It is not advised that you use a glass pan for baking these, glass pans tend to have rounded bottoms and don't lend themselves well to helping the cones stand well. Trust me, I learned the hard way. Use a metal 9 X 13 pan or a foil one, once you pour your cake mix into your cones, tap ligtly on the bottom to help the cake batter fill the little holes in the bottom of the cone.
This also helps work out excess bubbles in the batter.
