 Beef Tacos
With this Taco Recipe, you can substitute a pack of taco seasoning for the spices mentioned, however, it's nice to know what spices to use, when you don't have the taco seasoning on hand and need a quick meal to put together. Generally speaking these spices are the basic spices in many "south of the border" style dishes. Beef Tacos
1 lb. ground beef
1 Tbsp. Chili powder
1 teasp. ground cumin
1 teasp ground corriander.
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 clove of garlic minced.
1 teaspoon salt. (to taste)
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper.
Taco Shells
Toppings
About 1 cup shredded lettuce
1 ripe tomato, chopped
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
Place oil in pan, over med high heat, brown ground beef, drain excess fat. Be careful, drippings and pan are quite hot, If needed remove excess fat from pan with spoon.
Add spices, cook for about 30 to 60 seconds, then add 1/2 cup water, allow to simmer for about 10 min over low heat. If mixture becomes too dry or begins to scorch, add a little more water, about 1/4 cup, more if needed.
Spoon about 2 to 3 tablespoons of meat mixture into each taco shell. Top with your favorite toppings, and a dollop of sour cream. |
