Kelbasa & Sauerkraut
(Crock Pot Version)
This Crock Pot version of Basic Kielbasa & Sauerkraut is what I use for my holiday cooking, I set up several crock pots and get all my meals going at once, I set things to be done about 1 hour or so before company is due to arrive. Leaving me plenty of time for last minute details.
Since the Kielbasa is a pre-cooked itme (smoked) I usually put this together last, as it does well after 6 hours of cooking as well. Basic Kielbasa & Sauerkraut
1 Can, Jar or bag of Sauerkraut
1 Teaspoon Caraway Seeds
1 package Kielbasa or Smoked Sausage (about 1 to 2 lbs.)
1/2 Cup water.
Drain Sauerkraut, add to crockpot. sprinkle with caraway seeds, add water.
Cut kielbasa into 3 inch pieces, place on top of Sauerkraut mixture.
Cover Crock pot. Cook on low setting for about 8 hours. |
