Basic Spagetti Sauce
Kielbasa and Saurkraut
Chicken Paprikas
Spinach Dip
Crab Dip
Assorted Holiday Cookies
The Basic Spagetti sauce recipe is increased a bit in volume by using the large jar of spagetti sauce, I use it to top 2 lbs of cooked mostacioli noodles, and cover the whole thing with 4 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese, This is a huge favorite at my house and people actually ask me if I am making it again each year.
The long cooking time allows the sausage to release it's fat, and makes for a nice meaty bite without the grissly fat. This is a pleaser for my italian side of the family.
The Kielbasa and Saurkraut, when cooked in the crock pot, become quite tender and lose a bit of the sour bite, a little caraway seed increase the flavor, and this one is a big pleaser for the Polish side of the family.
The Chicken Paprikas is made in honor of a dear friend that gave me the recipe, we have no hungarian members, just the ones that live in our hearts. This recipe is so good, Everyone loves it.
I do cheat a little, I make this in a roaster and cook it on low for several hours, adding the dumplings in after about 2 hours of cooking and letting them plump with the juices from the paprikas, I add the sour cream mixture about 20 to 30 minutes before my guests arrive, allowing it to thicken and flavors to blend.
The Spinach Dip allows my guests to much while they talk, mingle and open gifts, for those not fond of spinach, I also serve the Crab Dip, this is another favorite, that people just love, and ask for.
The sweet tooth is satisfied with a large arrangement of Holiday Cookies, which the guests just help themselves, it doesn't get any simpler than than.
Lastly, I do Make a pot of mashed potatos, which I place in a crock pot to keep warm. And A large bowl of Holiday Punch.
The Holiday Punch is Easy to Make
1 can frozen lemonade
1 can frozen fruit punch
1 Large can fruit punch

Place lemonade and juices into the bottom of punch bowl, slowly add ginger ale, this will fizz a bit, fill to about 2/3 full, stir to disssolve frozen juice and lemonade, gently place spoonfulls of vanilla ice cream to float on top, add a few large chunks of ice to keep everything cold., stir gently, once or twice, be careful, this may foam up.
