I have been baking since I was a little girl. I love to take a recipe and change it to fit the way I like things and see how people like it. I taught ceramics for 10 years. Ceramics and crocheting are my first loves. But I will try anything and do. That is why my house is bursting at the seam. My son keeps threatening to call Clean Sweep to do my house.
Thank You Gloria, for a wonderful Recipe, and Congratulations on the promotion to Site Admin for The web group!.
Idea! This Great easy bread recipe sounds like a wonderful accompaniment to our recipe for Microwave Jam, why not try them both? Beer Bread
3 cups of self-rising flour or you can use 3 cups of all purpose flour and add 3 teaspoons of baking powder and 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt 3 T sugar 12 oz beer (room temp)
Mix all together and put in a greased loaf pan. Bake at 375 for 40 minutes or until lightly brown. I have been doing all kinds of different versions with this. Make the dough and put half in the pan....sprinkle grated cheddar cheese on top and dot with butter..then spread the rest of the dough over it. Brush with melted butter that you added garlic powder to. Bake the same way
Next Do the same thing as with the cheese and then add slices of pepperroni and a little pizza sauce....cover and brush with butter and garlic. Bake the same way.
I have another version to that bread. I put the dough down and added crumbled (cooked) bacon and sharp cheddar cheese. Quite a bit. and then the rest of the dough and baked it. It was so good for breakfast.
