Grocery Shopping Tips
Having certain items on hand can be a life saver when you're running late and have a family or even just yourself to feed. Consider keeping some of the following on hand for those busy days.You may want to pick up a few at a time when you shop, please keep expiration dates in mind when storing food. One or two of these is enough, you will get to know what you use most and need to keep extra on hand.
Jars of Pasta Sauce with and without meat. Frozen Chicken Patties * Jars of Alfredo Sauce or packets of Alfredo and pesto mix Sloppy Joe Seasoning or Canned Sauce Assorted Canned Soup, including cream soups. Canned Evaporated milk, and Sweetened Condensed milk Mashed potato flakes Frozen Chicken Patties Butter quarters Eggs Half & Half Powdered Whipped topping mix (Usually kept by sugar & spices) Chocolate chips Milk Fresh Pasta Parmesan Cheese Taco Seasoning packs Little boxes of muffin mix, corn bread mix, pie crust mix, cake mix and frosting mix. (the off brand 2 or 3 for a buck kind.) Puff Pastry Assorted canned or frozen Vegetables. Biscuit mix Instant Coffee (the smallest jar available, generic is fine) Canned Mushrooms, sliced (small cans) Cheese slices (assorted or bags of shredded or chunk, what's on sale) Graham Crackers or vanilla wafers Refrigerator rolls / crescents, the kind in the pop open can Corn Starch Olive oil & Toasted Sesame Seed oil Refrigerator Cookie dough and for the times that it is inevitable, Frozen Pizza |
