Meals in a hurry don't have to be lacklustre or come in a styrofoam container. Have a look at these time saving cooking tips to get your next busy day meal on the table in minutes. Pasta: You can't beat pasta for a quick but filling menu idea. Fresh Pasta is kept in the refrigerated section of your grocery store, and should be kept in your refrigerator once you bring it home.
Fresh Pasta: cooks in about 2-4 minutes, thus cutting down considerably on your cooking time. Please follow your package directions for cooking times. The thinner the noodle, the quicker the cooking time. Use with a good quality jar sauce and you could have dinner done in under 20 minutes. Left-over meats, such as Italian sausage, pot roast or even chicken can be added to create a heartier meal.
Frozen Ravioli or Stuffed Shells are also a great option.
Frozen Garlic Bread is a great addition to this dinner, and the pre-sliced type can be made in batches so you always have it on hand.
Cookie Dough: Refrigerator cookie dough creates a quick dessert, for a variation try spreading some softened ice-cream between two cooled cookies and wrap in plastic wrap and place in the freezer to harden a bit while you enjoy your dinner.
Soup and Sandwiches are still a good standby for those no-time-to-cook days. You can add leftover meats, vegetables, rice or noodles to your canned soups to create a more home made appeal and increase the volume of your soups.
Frozen Chicken Patties can be dressed up in a hurry; they cook in a flash in the microwave - just wrap in paper towel before heating. Or bake in a conventional oven in about 20 minutes.
