 Butter Balls
If you like marashino cherries, you are going to love this recipe. For a variation, try dipping the cookie in melted chocolate chips, or adding a small piece of chocolate to the center instead of the cherry.
The possiblities are endless. Butter Balls
1 Cup Butter
2/3 Cup sugar
2 egg yolks
2 1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 egg whites lightly beaten
2 cups chopped nuts
Marschino Cherries
Cream butter and sugar, beat in egg yolks and flour, mix to form a dough, form into ball, press a hole into center and place cherry into the center of cookie ball, cover cherry completly with dough and bake on lightly greased cookie sheet for 20 to 25 minutes in a 325F oven. Sprinkle with powdered sugar while still hot.
