Wedding Cookies

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (and 1 1/2 cups of love)

1 cup softened butter or margarine (and 1 cup of good wishes)

1 teaspoon vanilla (and 1 teaspoon of hope)

1/2 teaspoon almond extract (and 1/2 teaspoon of luck)

1 Egg (and 1 lifetime of happiness)

2 1/2 Cups flour (and 2 1/2 cups of joy)

1 teaspoon baking soda (and 1 teaspoon patience)

1 teaspoon cream of tartar (and 1 teaspoon of faith)

Heat Oven to 375F

Mix powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, almond extract and egg. Stir in remaining ingredients, Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours. Divide dough into halves. Roll each half 3/16 thick on a lighlty floured board. Cut into daisy shapes; sprinkle with granulated sugar. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake until edges are light brown.

7 to 8 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
