Dora the Explorer Party

Food:
Taco Dip*
Chicken Taquitos
Mexican Pizza*
Corn Chips & Mild Salsa
Cake
Cupcakes - Each child can have a cupcake with a candle to blow out
Decorations:
Decorations can be in Dora Theme or done in bright Fiesta colors - Orange, Yellow Aqua and Red for example. Anything with Sombreros, chili peppers or cactus will work for decorations. Dora also has a Pirate Adventure video and a Fairytale video (among others) decorations and favors could even lean toward either of those themes.
Activities:
Play Dora videos during the party to keep little ones occupied.
You can also organized a map activity like the one in the show. Create Maps for each of the kids with 3 places on each. I had a Dora Party for my son and we sent a card out with the invitations with a picture of swiper on it. On the back of the card we wrote that Swiper had swiped the party favors and we needed their help to get them back.
When the kids got to the party we gave them their map & I just wrote on the maps that Map knew how to get to Swiper - First you go through the tunnel (I had a tunnel made from a large box in my living room) Next you go through the balloon forest (a bunch of green balloons in the doorway of my daughters bedroom) and that’s how you get to Swiper (A picture of Swiper on the wall with the words OH MAN!). The favor bags were left on the dresser below Swiper.
We also had them collect a star along the way. I made a bunch of different stars to look like the different explorer stars from the show (Glowy, Baseball star, Hero Star, Silly star etc). I put them up on the wall and the kids picked the star they wanted and that star had a corresponding prize for example Glowy would go with a glow in the dark bracelet & Silly star got funny glasses.
For a simpler version make all the stars look the same and number the backs to correspond with a prize or to let the kids pick a prize based on the number star they picked.
A pinata is always fun for a fiesta activity also.
